The gas tank on my ice auger has a leak and is plastic. What can I use to repair it?

I dont think jb weld will stick, or fiberglass or about anything for very long, in my experience,,, if it is a hole and not a crack then like slack said, screw it!

What made the hole in the tank? Abrasion? If so, I would drain the tank and take a soldering iron to the hole. Most of those tanks would be weldable.

Well the auger company is going to replace it, even though it's out of warranty. Kudos to them!

that must be one proud company..
it's hard to get something done nowadays that's under warranty much less if the warranty has expired.
I'll keep that link in case I ever have the means to buy something, they'll get my business

Seeing how they are sending me a new tank, I decided to try and fix the old one. I used a electric heat gun and and flat tip screwdriver. I heated it up and used the screwdriver to smooth the heated plastic. I worked great!
