Difficulties working on a scooter....
Jul 30th, 2009 at 3:49pm

Wow, my little scoot has sure been fun but seemingly any maintenance on it is difficult at best.

Due to the way the ignition switch is made into the plastic of the bike, it was binding with my keychain ring and putting the switch in a great bind sometimes when I'd try to actually activate the ignition switch. That and if I put something under the seat and it latches with something putting it in a bind, the ignition switch is put in a huge bind trying to undo it. I found a secret to this though, sit on the seat and turn the switch and it will take the bind off of the cable and the seat will unlatch.

That being said, my ignition switch went out. A little piece of wire came out and the switch will no longer accept the key. So I tried to take it out. That was a royal f(cking pain in the ass. I had to take out so much shit because of where it is and I got all cut up trying to get it out. A screw holding the seat cable plate to the switch stripped so I had to drill it out. But I had to drill it out through the little hole in the front of the bike as I couldn't get it out of the bike. It took 3 days (I kid you not) for my arm to heal and not feel like someone ran over it with a truck because I had to jam it in the small hole that was created by removing the side front blinker. More than once I said I'm selling this crappity smacki*g piece of shit and getting a Honda. Well, I have no money so that isn't an option.

109 bucks later I finally got the mutha crappity smacka back together again. I am sooooo happy to be back on two wheels again and I've made sure to change the keyring and not to put it in a bind when popping the seat latch!!!!
